These documents govern the hosted service at syncropel.com. Each is published in full at its own address, carries its version and effective date, and is kept in a change log. Version 1 took effect on 8 September 2026.
The agreement between you and Syncropic for the hosted service: plans, the free tier and its 180-day notice commitment, billing, acceptable use, your ownership of your data, and disputes.
What personal data we process and why, who receives it, how long it is kept, and your rights, including the assistant's inference path and the two ways to keep content off it.
The controller and processor terms for customers who place other people's personal data in a workspace, with the processing description, security measures and transfer mechanism as annexes. Applies automatically as part of the Terms.
Exactly who can reach a key you keep in a workspace we host: your assistants, us, what is recorded when a key is looked up, how keys are stored and backed up, and how to hold them in a vault of your own instead.
The third parties that process customer data on our behalf, what each processes and where, and how we give notice before adding or replacing one.
Copyright complaints
The hosted service lets people publish content through links they create. If you believe content published through the service infringes your copyright, send a notice with the information described in section 4 of the Terms of Service to legal@syncropic.com. We remove infringing content and close the accounts of repeat infringers.
Cookies
This site and the hosted service set only the cookies needed to sign you in, keep you safe and remember your preferences. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Details are in section 9 of the Privacy Policy.
Accessibility
We aim for WCAG 2.1 AA across our sites and the hosted service. If something is hard to use, tell us at accessibility@syncropic.com.
The SDKs we publish are licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. You may obtain a copy of the license at: apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0
The spl binary is free to download and run for any purpose, including production and commercial use, under the Business Source License 1.1; the one use that license does not permit is reselling Syncropel itself as a hosted service, for which a commercial license is available. Every release converts to Apache-2.0 four years after it ships, on a schedule written into its license. The kernel source is not yet public; we intend to publish it once the protocol reaches 1.0. Our terms only ever loosen. The published SDKs are available at npmjs.com/org/syncropel and pypi.org/project/syncropel. Documentation is at docs.syncropel.com.
We are committed to proper attribution of the open-source components we depend on. If you believe we have failed to properly attribute one, please contact legal@syncropic.com.
Patent Pending. Syncropic Inc. holds a portfolio of provisional patent applications covering core innovations in the Syncropel protocol.
Defensive purpose. These patents exist to protect the protocol from enclosure, not to restrict its use. Our patent portfolio is a defensive shield: it ensures that no entity, including Syncropic Inc., can patent the protocol's foundations and use them against the people building on it. We intend to publish a non-assertion pledge; its text is in counsel review.
What this means for you. If you are using the Apache-2.0 SDKs, that license carries a perpetual, irrevocable patent grant for what you build on them. Users of the spl binary within its license terms, and implementers of the open specification, will be covered by the pledge when it is published.

No Syncropel license grants trademark rights. You may describe your use of the protocol (e.g., “built on Syncropel”) but may not use the Syncropic or Syncropel names or logos in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation without written permission.
